NagarNet Privacy Policy
Effective Date: October 19, 2025
NagarNet ("we," "our," or "us") provides a mobile and web application that enables users to submit and track service-related complaints with their respective providers. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Information We Collect
Account and Contact Details:
Your phone number (for OTP verification), name, and optional email address.
Complaint Details:
Information you share while submitting a complaint, such as category, description, location (coordinates, ward, or area), and any images you upload from your device camera or gallery.
Device and Usage Information:
Technical data needed for app performance and troubleshooting (e.g., network requests, device language, app logs). We do not collect advertising identifiers or unrelated personal data.
Location (Optional):
If you choose to enable location, it helps auto-detect your area for accurate complaint tagging. You can disable location anytime or enter details manually.
How We Use Your Information
- To verify your identity and maintain your account session.
- To submit, track, and manage your complaints within the app's connected systems.
- To show complaint history, progress updates, and related notifications.
- To improve app reliability, usability, and security.
- To communicate important updates related to your account or complaints (if an email is provided).
Device Permissions
Camera: Accessed only when you capture an image for a complaint. NagarNet does not use your camera in the background.
Photos/Storage: Accessed only to upload a photo selected by you for a complaint.
Location (Optional): Used only to help tag your complaint accurately; you may disable it anytime.
Denying a permission may limit some features (for example, adding a photo or detecting your location) but the app will still function.
Legal Basis for Processing
- Contractual necessity: To provide complaint submission and tracking services.
- Legitimate interest: For app performance, security, and quality improvements.
- Consent: For optional information such as location and email. You can withdraw consent anytime by disabling the relevant feature.
Sharing and Disclosure
- We share complaint details only with authorized service providers or partners directly responsible for addressing the issue you report.
- We may also work with secure hosting or technical vendors required to operate the app.
- We do not sell or rent your personal information to any third party.
- We may disclose limited data if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of our users and systems.
Data Storage and Security
- On your device: Login tokens and minimal profile data are stored securely. Logging out removes them.
- On our servers: Complaint records and attachments are stored securely with reasonable technical and organizational safeguards.
- While we use modern security practices, no system is 100% immune from risk.
Data Retention
- Temporary app data (tokens, sessions) is cleared when you log out or delete app data.
- Complaint records are retained only as long as needed for operational or legal purposes.
Your Choices and Rights
- You may use the app without providing optional information (email or location).
- You may request to access, correct, or delete your data, subject to operational limits.
- You may withdraw consent for optional data at any time.
Children's Privacy
NagarNet is designed for general audiences and is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.
International Processing
Depending on infrastructure, your information may be processed on secure servers located in other regions with appropriate safeguards in place.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Updates will be reflected in the "Effective Date" above and, where appropriate, notified through the app.
